I am delighted to be able to write just a few lines regarding my old friend "Trevor Roberts". I have been fortunate enough to have known the "Bolton Iron Man", (as he is known) for well over 30 years.

In all that time I have come to realise the man is one of the one TRUE mastersof combat alive today. He is the only person I know who has competed nationally and internationally in Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Wrestling and Sambo. For those interested in the 'practical', Trevor has been the longest serving doorman I know, well over 30 years, and at least 3000 encounters under his belt. You can't buy that experience.

What you can do however is see Trevor in action and listen to his broad Bolton accent, saying it like it is. Honest, forthright, supremely ecperienced. Oh, and a nice guy as well. Instructors come and go and in the martial arts I have seen thousands, I personally rate Trevor Roberts in my top three.

Trevor Roberts, what can I say? Having had the privilege of being a friend of Trevor's for the past 25 years, I can only say that with the current trend of so-called self defence experts and reality fighting gurus out there, here is a man that without a shadow of a doubt stands head and shoulders above the rest. Pretty impressive, as Trevor is not the tallest man on the planet! There is an old saying "Walk quietly and carry a big stick", Trevor is again, without doubt that man. I can only describe Trevor as nothing but a true gentleman and a fine example of what is commonly referred to as "old school". He has worked in the security industry including door work longer than most of us care to remember. He is in my opinion one of the most experienced self defence/personal security consultants out there. If the television series The A-Team was a reality, it would come in the form of Trevor Roberts! The DVD... BUY IT!! If you are a doorman or in any kind of personal security work, I don't think you can afford to be without it.
